I am always looking for jewelry and accessories to complete the look of my portraits, not only for me but also for my clients. Sometimes even the smallest detail can change the entire concept that you may be trying to establish with your shoot. Nothing is worse then spending hours planning every detail in a spooky Halloween shoot, and you have a zombie wearing cupcake earrings in the final take.
As luck would have it, this Christmas I was surprised with a lovely sugar skull necklace that my fiance had found listed on the local marketplace. Curiosity ensued and I was excited to soon discover all of the various products this local shop had to offer. Whether you need that special bit of bling for your little mermaid, or something to complete your prom ensemble, I am sure she has what you need and at an unbeatable price! A little bit of bling that makes a big statement in your portraits and supports local North Dakota vendors!
My next step was to gather some willing models ( yes I ended up being one of them), come up with some creative ideas, and take some awesome shots to help Denise promote her wears. I am so excited to show my clients what she has to offer by doing what I love, shooting portraits!
Now I personally do not like taking self portraits but this gave me a chance to girl up, wear makeup, puff up my hair and express myself! What girl doesn't like that!
Not only do I love how my new necklace added a little touch to my portraits, but it told a memorable story, while revealing my personality! I love sugar skulls (hence my tattoos and jewelry choice) and I found multiple pieces that I would love to wear!
My self portraits, displaying some beautiful accessories featured in Denise's shop. From top to bottom....red and black scarf, sugar skull necklaces, feather wrap around bracelets ( featured in all 3 pictures), large skull choker necklace and skeleton hand.
Makinzie loves Frozen and of course she was more than happy to dress up into her Anna costume while giving Olaf warm hugs for our Frozen pictures! This is an image that we will both remember and smile each time we look at it for years to come! You can see that she is Frozen fan, and I love how this portrait captured her personality perfectly ! This is her 9 year birthday present- ssh don't tell! :)
A beautiful snowflake necklace finished her new Christmas outfit perfectly, and of course it reminds her of Frozen!
Maddison, being the wild and crazy pre-teen that she is, wanted to show her energy and participate in pictures in a unique way! She chose various colors of beautiful wrap bracelets. While she got silly for her shoot, we were able to capture her personality and I just love how much fun we had! What a perfect way to express herself and create a lasting memory! I Love these bracelets and hope to see them in future sessions as they add a great finishing touch without being to overwhelming, (of course if you want to wear more you can :) )
I have included a few more images from our session to show the variety that is offered. The Papa/Mamma/Baby bear set would make a great addition for a family portrait, or even a expecting couple.
So many great ideas running through my head ! I cannot wait to see what we can create together!
